Neurodivergence
As a neurodivergent person, I am passion about ensuring that other neurodivergent people are able to understand and advocate for their needs.
As a parent, it can be difficult to balance your own needs and the needs of your child. Unmet sensory needs and unsuitable environments can quickly make things feel very overwhelming for us ND folk. Whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding, your child will be close to you - touch, smell, sound - they all add to our sensory experiences.
My work in this area explores how sensory accommodations can be utilised to ensure neurodivergent people have positive experiences of feeding and parenthood. I am also interested in the impact of late identification, particularly in women and AFAB people.
